The New York Times - Silent Trump Collaborator?
The NYT has "bent-the-knee" and become a silent collaborator of the fascist Trump Regime
On August 1, 2025, I wrote a Substack post entitled, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.” This post warns the American People about technology mega-corporations (Meta, Amazon, Apple, Google, Disney, X, TikTok, et al.), elite universities (Brown, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, et al.), and billionaire-controlled corporate media (The Washington Post, Fox News, et al.) capitulation to the Fascist Trump Regime.
Since August 1, I have become extra vigilant about vetting my news sources to ensure “fair and balanced” reporting.
For years, I have been a subscriber to The New York Times. Why? Based on my experience, I had always considered the NYT to be a trusted, wide-ranging source for US national news, both political and apolitical. I did not believe I needed to worry that I was being fed propaganda or that important events and stories might be ignored or buried on their back pages.
After August 1, I began to notice that news content shared on Substack, and important to me, was often either ignored or marginalized by the mainstream news media outlets like the NYT, ABC, CBS, CNN, etc.
So, I decided to search for more reliable, “fair and balanced” news sources that report on both U.S. and global news. I explored the Associated Press (AP), Reuters, and The Guardian (Allegedly not billionaire-controlled), and several others. I settled on The Guardian and subscribed to it.
Last week (August 24-30), I became aware of hundreds of planned nationwide protest events scheduled to occur on Labor Day (Monday, September 1). The subject of these protests was to “Support Workers Over Billionaires.”
While driving up I-5 on Labor Day, there were protesters waving protest banners on several freeway overpasses.
When I got home on Labor Day evening, I went online to see how these events were being reported. First, I checked The Guardian. Their coverage of these protests was on their front page and showed pictures of some of the hundreds of rallies, marches, and freeway overpass protests held throughout America on Labor Day. Then, I checked The New York Times. I found no mention on the NYT front page of these Labor Day protests against the American billionaire oligarchy supported by the fascist Trump regime.
The next day (Tuesday, 9-02-2025), I checked to see if the NYT was just late reporting on these protests. Same result!
Next, I used the NYT search feature to search for articles related to “Labor Day protests.” At the top of the list of search results was an article entitled, “Labor Day Protests Denounce Trump While Supporting Workers” along with an article entitled, “Trump Protests Cascade Across the Country”, reported on page A17 of the September 2, 2025, print edition of The New York Times.
The problem here is that the NYT appears to have deliberately buried its reporting of anti-Trump protests on the back pages of its online and print editions. This is equivalent to no reporting! Essentially silence — just what the Trump regime’s propaganda machine wants from the NYT and corporate media!
