Venezuela, Greenland, & the 21st Century American Empire

Overview
The Venezuelan drug trafficking coup d’etat and trump’s1 renewed threats to usurp Denmark’s sovereignty over Greenland to secure its rare earth minerals and its Atlantic Ocean access routes to the Arctic Ocean are the latest “over-the-top” deflections and distractions from what’s really going on.
What’s Really Going On?
What Americans and their global allies and competitors are now watching is the trump 2.0 regime’s gambit to morph America from a democratic republic into a technocratic autocratic American empire spanning the Western Hemisphere.
The overlordship of Venezuela and the threatened, unilateral seizure of Greenland are just the trump 2.0 regime’s first two links in a chain of planned strategic acquisitions. Who is next? Cuba?
The trump 2.0 regime is under severe time pressure. Although they appear to have Venezuela under their thumb. Greenland must be acquired before their projected loss of control of Congress in January 2027.
If they somehow maintain control of Congress in January 2027, they will likely succeed in their acquisition of Greenland before trump leaves office on January 20th, 2029.
If the trump 2.0 regime retains control of the Presidency beyond 2028, then the creation of a 21st-century American empire will be well underway and may be unstoppable.
Deflections and Distractions
By now, we all know that the trump 2.0 regime attempts to achieve most of its political goals through a constant flood of distractions and deflections.
Their tactics and strategies are similar to how a pickpocket distracts you by bumping into you while his accomplice simultaneously snatches your wallet from your pocket.
The trump 2.0 DoJ’s fumbling and stumbling performance
The obvious goal of the DoJ’s fumbling, stumbling, and law-breaking deflections and distractions regarding the release of all of the Epstein Files to Congress is to delay their release until after the midterm Congressional elections in November of 2026. Their efforts, if successful, might allow the Republican Party to retain control of Congress in January of 2027.
The public and news media focus on the DoJ’s fumbling, stumbling, and law-breaking behavior. They do not focus on the real possibility that the Epstein files, which may contain incontrovertible, documented evidence of pedophilia, may not be delivered to Congress before the 2026 Congressional midterm elections.
If the Epstein Files are fully released before the Congressional midterm elections and are found to contain undeniable visual evidence of pedophilia by trump or any of trump’s associates, then the trump and MAGA-controlled Republican Party will surely lose control of Congress in January of 2027.
If the MAGA-controlled Republican Party loses control of Congress in January of 2027, then the trump 2.0 regime’s rush to create a 21st-century American empire will be delayed, if not derailed.
Venezuelan Coup d’Etat
The stated goal of the United States’ Venezuelan coup d’etat was to arrest Nicholas Maduro and prevent Venezuelan narco-terrorists from future exportation of illegal narcotics to the United States.
The clandestine goal is to transform Venezuela into a vassal of the United States through control of Venezuela’s oil reserves and oil industry. In effect, this coup d’etat is the first step in the creation of a 21st-century American empire.
The public and the news media initially focused on the illegality of killing suspected drug traffickers without due process (a deflection/distraction), then they shifted focus to the kidnapping of Venezuela’s President, Nicholas Maduro (a 2nd deflection/distraction).
Immediately after Maduro’s extradition, the trump 2.0 regime’s narrative changed. Elimination of narco-terrorist cartels and their drug trafficking were no longer the stated goals for the coup d’etat.
The deflection and distraction reasons for why the United States executed the coup d’etat switched, in a heartbeat, to Venezuela’s oil reserves and its oil industry (a 3rd deflection/distraction).
Venezuela was shipping oil to sanctioned countries.
Hugo Chávez (Nicholas Maduro’s predecessor) had seized American oil industry assets in the 1970s, and the United States wants to be reimbursed.
Venezuela’s oil industry is in disrepair and needs to be updated. American oil companies should manage Venezuelan oil reserves and the renovation of its oil industry.
Maintaining long-term control of Venezuela’s oil reserves and oil industry is central to the trump 2.0 regime’s recent declaration of the “Donroe” doctrine, an adaptation of the 1823 Monroe doctrine, which declares America’s hegemony over the Western Hemisphere, North and South America. Finally, the clandestine goal is revealed.
Greenland Acquisition
The stated goals of the United States’ acquisition of Greenland were the strategic importance of its Arctic Ocean location and its rare earth mineral deposits.
The clandestine goals of the Greenland acquisition are the United States’ withdrawal from NATO and the United States’ cessation of support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.
The public and news media focus on the overt, brazen threats to acquire, by any means necessary, the sovereign territory of a NATO ally — a distraction and deflection from the real objective, which is the dismantling of NATO.
Since 1949, Europe’s, and later on the European Union’s (EU), security has depended on the United States’ commitment to Article 52 of the NATO Charter. Without the United States’ Article 5 commitment, the EU is more vulnerable to Russia’s ongoing efforts to recreate the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
Based on trump’s many well-documented statements in support and adulation of Vladimir Putin, it is reasonable to assume that Putin holds kompromat over trump. If exposed to the public, this kompromat could destroy trump’s reputation, political career, and any positive aspects of his historical legacy. Putin owns trump!
The weakening or dismantling of NATO as a result of the trump 2.0 regime’s following through on its threats to Greenland’s sovereignty serves three clandestine purposes:
Improves Russia’s chances of prevailing in its four-year war with Ukraine.
Improves Putin’s chances of succeeding in his stated goal of restoring the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
Adds Greenland to the de facto, newly-formed 21st-century American Empire.
Intended Consequences
I believe the intended consequences of the trump 2.0 regime’s Venezuelan coup d’etat and its threats to Greenland’s sovereignty are to:
Gain control of ½ of the Earth’s known oil reserves.
Acquire Venezuela as the first vassal of the 21st-century American empire3.
Send a “warning shot” to Russia, and especially to China, to cease and vacate their efforts to gain access to and influence over the Western Hemisphere’s nations and those nations’ natural resources.
Control of oil exported to Venezuela’s principal importer, China.
Appease Putin by disrupting and maybe dismantling NATO.
Gain sole control of Greenland’s natural resources, its Arctic Ocean shoreline, and its access routes to the Arctic Ocean.
Unintended Consequences
I believe the unintended, but logically expected, consequences of the trump 2.0 regime’s Venezuelan coup d’etat and its threats to Greenland’s sovereignty might be:
Tacit permission by the United States to allow China to invade and acquire Taiwan4.
Tacit permission for Russia to more aggressively pursue its war with Ukraine.
Increase the probability that Russia will increase its efforts to reacquire former republics of the USSR, such as the Baltic nations: Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.
Conclusions
If the trump 2.0 regime can stay in power through 2028, acquire Greenland, and withdraw from NATO, the EU loses. The winners would be China, Russia, and the United States.
How China Could Win
Acquire Taiwan without a war with the United States. China gets Taiwan. The US gets Greenland.
Access to more of Venezuela’s oil reserves.
Tacit agreement with the United States not to meddle in their respective primary spheres of influence. China controls Far East Asia, Southeast Asia. and the Western Pacific Ocean. The United States controls North America, South America, and the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
How Russia Could Win
NATO is weakened and may be dismantled.
Russia wins its war with Ukraine.
The EU is weakened by the United States’ withdrawal from NATO.
How the USA Could Win
Control of more than 50% of the Earth’s proven oil reserves.
Ownership of Greenland and its natural resources.
Doubling of the United States’ Arctic Ocean shoreline and acquiring Atlantic Ocean access routes to the Arctic Ocean.

Article 5 of the NATO Charter:
The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.
Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.
In 2020, I conceived an idea for a dystopian novel predicting the evolution of humanity during the 21st century. The book’s prospective title was, and still is, “The 5 Empires.”
One of the 5 empires envisioned was created by the United States’ “domino effect” annexation of all nation-states in the Western Hemisphere beginning in 2025 and continuing through 2039.

Behind the scenes, the United States may be willing to trade its defense of Taiwan for China’s tacit support of the United States’ acquisition of Venezuela, Greenland, et al.
Even if the United States is still committed to defending Taiwan, the reality is that it may not be able to justify what might be an existential conflict for both countries.
