Purpose:

The purpose of the 546watch Commentary Substack is to add another voice to express the rage millions of Americans feel towards the 2025-2029 Republican Party administration’s:

  • Disregard for the Rule of Law and Our Constitution through their use of Our Department of Justice and private law firms to delay and attempt to defend their borderline illegal executive orders.

  • Careless dismantling of the US Federal Government bureaucracy on which Americans depend.

  • Disruption by tariffs of the economic and strategic alliances with our, soon to be former, allies.

  • Disruption by tariffs of the economic well-being of American corporations and families.

  • Use of “on again, off again” tariffs to create economic chaos allowing opportunities for personal financial gain through insider trading.

  • Illegal acceptance of gifts from foreign nations in violation of the Constitution.

and the House of Representatives and Supreme Court’s complicity in supporting and allowing these actions.

We must hold the President, Vice President, Senate, House of Representatives, and Supreme Court accountable.

Background:

Our Work Experience:

  • Nuclear instrumentation systems engineering and sales account management

  • Computer sales and application engineering

  • Corporate computer network engineering and services

  • Start-up of high-tech companies

Our Education:

  • M.S. Chemical Engineering

  • B.S. Engineering Physics

Our Politics:

Neither American political party represents any of us.

Our perception of the American electorate can be broken down into these cohorts, from “Left” to “Right”:

  • “WOKE” progressives - 10%

  • Not “too WOKE” Progressives - 10%

  • Traditional Liberal Democrats - 10%

  • Independents - 40%

  • Traditional conservative Republicans - 10%

  • Not “too hard-core” MAGAs - 10%

  • “Hard-core” MAGAs - 10%

We believe the divisiveness present today is fueled by the extreme, overblown, and often false print, audio, image, and video media generated by the extreme “Left” and “Right” wings of the American electorate. The result is 20% of the electorate clogs the public’s information sources with their vile guile.

We are “middle-of-the-road” Independents.

Among our beliefs, we believe in:

  • The Constitution and its amendments, until we change them as provided for in the Constitution.

  • Equality of opportunity for all Americans, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.

  • Corporations and other organizations are not people — overturn the “Citizens United” ruling.

  • A “hard” division must exist between the state and any religion or specific cultural beliefs. America is not a theocracy — like Iran!

  • A dominant military — as President Teddy Roosevelt said, “Speak softly, but carry a big stick.”

  • We believe in limiting the wealth of any American to a maximum amount through progressive taxation. As a society, we have to come up with an answer to the difficult questions of, “How much wealth is enough wealth“, “How should excess wealth be taxed”, and “How should taxed excess wealth be used for the good of the country and its people.”

Billionaires did not and could not make their extreme wealth on their own.

Why Substack:

We distrust social media (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and its negative effects on society.

We have never used any of these platforms. Until Substack, communication was performed solely through text (Apple iMessage) and e-mail (G-mail).

To us, Substack is different. It is an e-mail newsletter, a blog, a chat room, a random note generator, and a subscriber’s website. Substack fosters the growth of a community around a shared set of values, interests, and concerns. No wonder well-known journalists, politicians, and media personalities are flocking to Substack.

Although posts sometimes contain outlandish false content, generally most content “seems” to have been carefully crafted, curated, and vetted.

We expect Substack’s credibility to deteriorate as more millions of humans subscribe and generate content — expect the platform’s signal-to-noise ratio to deteriorate. We sense this already happening. But, right now, Substack appears to be the best option available to “get the word out.”
